Our OTW first flew on April 25, 1942.  Al Meyers, himself, was the pilot on that first flight.  From 1942 to when we purchased it in March of 1992, our OTW, Pokey, lived in various places, including Washington, D.C., Lancaster, Texas, Des Moines, Iowa, Greeley and Denver, Co., Hershey, Ne., New Kingston, Pa, and Hampton, Va.  Then it went through several hands as a basket case before we purchased it.  I did a ground up restoration trying to stay as close to it's original configuration as the day Al Meyers flew it.  It flew again on June 7, 1999 after a seven year and three month restoration.  In July of 2000 I took Pokey to Oshkosh where it won a Bronze Lindy and was declared a Champion Antique of the World War II Era 1942-1945.  It has also won three Best-In-Class awards at the annual Antique Airplane Association fly-in in Blakesburg, Ia.  In July 2002 it won "Outstanding Open Cockpit Biplane 1942-1945" at Oshkosh.  It is powered by a 145 HP Warner radial and cruises at 85 MPH.
