I located OTW # 93, NC34349, through an ad in General Aviation News, January 2001.  I subsequently called the seller who had just acquired the airplane a year earlier.  I made arrangements with my A&I in Truckee, CA, to complete a pre-buy inspection at my expense and his report indicated the airplane to be airworthy and suitable for my acquisition.  After arranging for the agreed price and payment, I traveled to Sandy Valley, NV, SW of Las Vegas April 19, 2001.  The 3 - day trip home is suitable for another story but developed into an interesting cross country trip via open cockpit biplane in early Spring with strong desert winds!  I became tail wheel current after 12 years absence from said airplane class and enjoyed the otherwise stressful strip back to Kansas.  Not long after I landed at Newton, KS, Herrington had a violent tornado pass through their small town and only about 2 hours after I passed through Western Kansas!  Velly interesting!

In 2003 I had a bit of a problem at McConnell AFB air show.  I flew in on Friday for weekend air show and parked on the apron.  A wind gust lifted my OTW up and dropped it in a construction area where they were installing new POL facilities.  As you can see it suffered from that short "flight" to the tune of over $20,000.
